HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah - The education staff at the Hill Aerospace Museum is offering a free, fun Summer STEM Passport Program with educational classes for children 8-years-old and up. The purpose of STEM is to get students interested in science, technology, engineering and math.
The classes began June 5 and run every Tuesday through Friday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. During the week, the museum education staff will offer classes in astronomy, chemistry, electricity, forces of flight, helicopters, simple machines and weather just to name a few.
Each student will receive a museum STEM passport. A subject page in the
passport, corresponding with each class, will be stamped after completion. When all the pages are stamped by attending all classes, students will receive a special commemorative pin.
STEM Summer Saturdays, sponsored by Weber County Recreation Arts Museum and Parks, will also be a part of the program. Saturday classes are offered on rockets and magnetics and are offered on alternating Saturdays beginning June 16.
The Hill Aerospace Museum is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission to the museum and participation in the Summer STEM Passport Program is free. For more information, call the museum at 801-825-5817 or visit their website at www.hill.af.mil.
