People from around the world gather in downtown Honolulu to take part in the sixth annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Land Forces of the Pacific (LANPAC) Symposium May 22 through May 24.

A multilateral approach across the Indo-Pacific is the theme of this year’s LANPAC.

Commanding General Robert B. Brown, U.S. Army Pacific, began LANPAC with a loud “Aloha,” as he welcomed participants to the three-day symposium and exposition.

Brown stressed the importance of LANPAC and praised the attendance of this year’s event; this year’s attendance is the highest to date.

“The Pacific is such a critical theater and LANPAC is an opportunity for leaders from 26 nations to gather and discuss the future challenges,” said Brown.

LANPAC is an international professional development forum that highlights the role of land forces in the Indo-Pacific Theater. Over the three-day event, key leaders will cover a variety of topics through panel discussions, booth exhibits and forums. Some of the topics include:

    • Multilateral Perspective on Regional Threats
    • Non-Kinetic Power Projection
    • Multi-Domain Battle in Megacities
    • Global Partnerships

“The world is complex and multilateral solutions are the future. LANPAC allows you to do more in three days than you could accomplish in weeks of traveling to connect with the many different leaders gathered here,” said Brown.

Multilateral solutions refer to an alliance of multiple countries pursuing a common goal.

The 2018 AUSA LANPAC Symposium and Exposition will end May 24, 207. To live stream the event, please visit https://www.dvidshub.net/webcast/15508.
