354th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment

“Why don’t you leave me alone; why don’t you ever go home?”
This historic cadence usually refers to drill sergeants, but in this case, it is directed toward Observer, Coach/Trainers (OC/Ts).
An OC/T is a selected duty position and those chosen are considered subject matter experts in their specific warfighting functions. They stand in the background watching and evaluating training scenarios, making sure they are completed to mission and safety standards.
These coaches are trained and certified to provide After Action Reviews (AARs) and Final Exercise Reports (FERs), which provide immediate feedback on the successes and failures of the mission. This evaluation process identifies sustains, improvements and lessons learned for the troops and the command. This helps the Soldiers, leaders and command increase readiness.
The OC/T appointment is considered a broadening position and is open to commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers.
Everywhere you go, they will be there; watching.
