Story by Airman 1st Class Nicolas Erwin

    28th Bomb Wing

The 28th Civil Engineer Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight conducted a ruck march around Ellsworth Air Force Base in honor of National EOD Memorial Day, May 5, 2018.

National EOD Memorial Day is designated by Congress as the first Saturday of May in honor of EOD technicians who lost their lives while conducting operations around the globe.

On this day, EOD technicians from all four services gather at the EOD Memorial Wall in Niceville, Florida, to honor those memorialized and add new names to the wall.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the EOD Memorial, and for the first time since the 9/11 attacks, no new names will be added to the wall.
