The flag of the United States of America flies at half staff April 18, 2018, on the flagpole in front of Garrison Headquarters at Fort McCoy, Wis., in honor of former First Lady Barbara Bush.
The flag was flown at half staff on all Department of Defense buildings, grounds, and naval vessels throughout the United States and around the world.
Bush died April 17 in Houston, Texas, and is the wife of former President George H.W. Bush.
Fort McCoy's mission is to underpin Total Force Readiness by serving as a training center and a support site for power projection missions.
Also, as a Total Force Training Center, Fort McCoy's primary responsibility is to support the training and readiness of military personnel and units of all branches and components of America's armed forces.
