    Colo. National Guard Family marches to fight hunger in our communities
    CENTENNIAL, Colo. – Department of Military and Veterans Affairs state employees will team up with Colorado National Guard Soldiers, Airmen, and their families to fight hunger in our communities March 16, 7-11 a.m.

    Participants will march for about five miles while carrying rucksacks full of non-perishable food and personal products donations that are in high demand, such as toothpaste and shampoo.

    “Our Colorado National Guard Family is always ready, always there, whether the call comes from our communities, state or nation,” U.S. Army Chaplain Maj. David Nagel said. “Events like this demonstrate a spirit of service and volunteerism. I’m thrilled to be a part of this event and organization.”

    “We have a culture of caring about our communities. This team-building and spiritual fitness event is a great way to show support for our neighbors who are hurting,” Nagel said.

    The CONG has been collecting donations at various locations across the Denver metropolitan area.

    Participation in the march is voluntary.

    Community members are welcome to join in the march or just cheer on the participants as they pass.
