The 114th Fighter Wing Top 3 organization hosted a Family Readiness EXPO Feb. 4, 2018, Sioux Falls, S.D. The Top 3 is made up of senior noncommissioned officers, whose goal is to foster improved communication, collaboration, and engagement within the South Dakota Air National Guard.

The purpose of the expo is to create awareness about programs and resources available to service members’ families, as well as to open up communication channels and networking paths to navigate to these resources and individuals.

“The expo will allow for members and their families to learn and ask questions on resources available, accomplish personal tasks typically associated with deployments, and/or set up a time with the presenter to do so,” said Master Sgt. Jayme Warren, 114th Fighter Wing Top 3 program coordinator.

Airmen’s family members and close friends who supports their commitment and responsibility as a member of the South Dakota Air National Guard were in attendance.

The Top 3 networked with a variety of individuals and programs within the 114th Fighter Wing to inform and address questions, high priority issues, challenges, opportunities, adversities, and possible benefit related questions that families have. Presenters also approached the Top 3 to participate in the event to offer a pro-active relationship with our Airmen and their families.

“We want to stress to our families that their own family readiness and resiliency has an impact on their Airman’s responsibilities to the 114th Fighter Wing,” said Chief Master Sgt. Anne Williams, 114th Fighter Wing Top 3 president.

Representatives from programs and services available to Airmen and their family members presented during the expo. Command Chief Master Sgt. Zona Hornstra, 114th Fighter Wing command chief, also spoke to Airmen and their families during the expo.

“Our Airmen and Families are our greatest assets and it is our responsibility to help take care of them. It is very important to involve our Airmen and their families in all aspects, to ensure they know the benefits and services offered to them.” said Hornstra.

The Top 3 wanted to ensure families, friends, and loved ones are informed, educated and motivated.
