TAJI MILITARY COMPLEX, Iraq – Wrenches turn and teamwork ensues as Soldiers assigned to the 449th Combat Aviation Brigade partner with Iraqi Army Aviation in order to increase Coalition capabilities by conducting a maintenance course at Camp Taji, Iraq, Jan. 23, 2018.

The maintenance course provided knowledge on troubleshooting principles and how to repair an aircraft nitrogen generator.

The generator produces gas used to fill tires and fuel tanks, making it easier to provide operational and logistical support to the Iraqi security forces in order to defeat ISIS.

“The generator is important because it’s how we operate our aircraft,” said an Iraqi pilot instructor. “It’s amazing being able to work with the U.S. Army because they show us a more modern way to do things, which increases our experiences.”

Training at building partner capacity sites is an integral part of Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve’s global Coalition effort to train Iraqi security forces personnel to defeat ISIS.
