Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade

Sgt. Aaron Marquez always had a vested interest in the national security and intelligence operations that keep U.S. assets protected. As an intelligence analyst for Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51, 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, he assists in analyzing critical information that supports countering transregional terrorism, protecting interests and providing flexible crisis response capabilities in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

Marquez, a six-year veteran in the Marine Corps, also serves as an intelligence watch officer, a crucial position that provides the Integrated Operations Center with real-time updates to shape and support responsive decision-making.

“The most enjoyable part of my job is enabling the intelligence community to benefit and build greater collaboration and assessments for action,” Marquez said. “It allows the commander to make crucial decisions in shaping the battlespace.”

Those decisions, which greatly impact the success of crisis response missions, are guided by accurate intelligence reporting and assessments, a task that requires a high level of diligence and commitment.

Prior to joining TF 51/5, Marquez served as the intelligence chief for the Combat Logistics Regiment 3 and 3d Transportation Support Battalion in Okinawa, Japan.

A part-time student at the American Military University, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies. While serving the Republic of Korea in support of United States Forces Korea, he was awarded two Joint Service Achievement Service medals. His hobbies include traveling and snowboarding, both of which he will be able to do at his next assignment with the 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California.
