The Parwan Provincial Special Unit arrested a Taliban commander and two others with links to narco-terrorism, weapons trafficking, and rocket attacks during a night raid in Qaleh-Ye-Nasro village, Bagram district, Parwan province, Jan. 12, 2018. The PSU also seized explosives hidden in the compound and a cache of weapons.
The General Command of Police Special Units operate under the auspices of the Ministry of the Interior. Thirty-three PSUs provide direct support of the provincial chiefs of police. PSUs conduct high-risk arrests, counterterrorism operations and high-profile attack response.
