Six Taliban surrendered to Afghan Special Security Forces in Cacwan Khola village, Bermal district, Paktika province, Afghanistan, Dec. 11, 2017. The Paktika Police Special Unit and 2nd Special Operations Kandak accepted the surrender before launching an assault on a known Taliban compound.

Ten Taliban that choose to fight were killed and 3 additional insurgents were captured. The ASSF seized six heavy machine guns, more than 30 automatic weapons, 190 RPG rounds, and 2,500 rounds of ammunition.

The Police Special Units and Commandos routinely conduct combined special operations missions across Afghanistan. The ASSF protect the Afghan people through offensive operations that degrade the ability of the Taliban and ISIS-K to conduct attacks against Afghan civilians and government institutions.
