The Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team performed for students as part of a U.S. military demonstration dedicated to veterans and the armed forces at La Salle Academy in Manhattan, New York Nov. 9, 2017.

The Air Force Drill Team conducted a four man routine, made up of its most proficient members.

More than 300 students were shocked and awed by the coordination and discipline showcased by the drill team said Ms. Kerry Conroy, the La Salle Academy principle.

The students of La Salle Academy listened and watched representatives from every United States military branch contribute to the morning’s demonstrations.

The young students see the focus of these driven Airmen, which can help to inspire the students in anything they do, said Alicia Cox, a parent alumni of La Salle Academy.

The Air Force Drill Team has performed at the school on an annual basis for years and the older students begin to look at joining the military as an option when they become seniors.

“It starts as entertainment but then it makes the students think beyond the entertainment as a path someone took, an opportunity and what could be a next step,” said Conroy.

The drill team performed at the school as part of a weeklong trip to the city culminating in the Veterans Day parade in Manhattan and a New York Knicks basketball game performance on Saturday night.
