AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - As a member of the U.S. Air Force Academy’s In the Stairwell, Cadet 1st Class Mercer Martin, a Greenville, Penn., native, will be performing at the America’s Got Talent semi-final round Sept. 12.
“I am humbled and honored,” said Martin.
In the Stairwell is the Academy’s all-male a Capella group formed in 2004 by freshmen cadets who sang together in the only place they could, their dormitory stairwells.
The group was invited by America’s Got Talent producers to compete on the show after they watched a YouTube video of the group performing last fall.
“I love singing above all,” Martin said.
Martin is currently in his senior year at the Academy.
