PENSACOLA, Fla. (Aug. 25, 2017) — The diversity team at Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC) held a team trivia event to promote and celebrate women’s history at the command Aug. 25.
The contest had teams of three Sailors each face off by answering questions about women of past and present. The team with the most correct answers moved on to the next round until only one group was left.
Covering topics ranging from popular women authors to famous female historical figures, the game was intended to be an enjoyable way to get NMOTC Sailors engaged to learn about women’s history and reflect on the impact women have had on the military and society.
“It was a fun way to look back at all of the contributions made by women over the years,” said Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman Chi Patrick, NMOTC Headquarters Senior Enlisted Leader and trivia participant.
When all the points were totaled, and all of the free popcorn and soft drinks provided by the diversity team were finished, the winning team emerged.
“My favorite category was naming female music artists,” said Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Krystal Hardin, a trivia participant on the winning team. “I was surprised at my team’s working knowledge of female history.”
NMOTC’s diversity team continues to find enjoyable ways to teach the command about a variety of topics throughout the year.
“It’s always fun to bring everyone together to learn more about each other while observing these important events,” said Navy Counselor 2nd Class Timothy Puzan.
NMOTC is part of the Navy Medicine team, a global health care network of Navy medical professionals around the world who provide high-quality health care to more than one million eligible beneficiaries. Navy Medicine personnel deploy with Sailors and Marines worldwide, providing critical mission support aboard ships, in the air, under the sea, and on the battlefield.
