Bridges is currently on active duty status, working at the Pentagon where he serves as Military Assistant for Readiness under the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Army.
Bridges served in the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Arkansas National Guard, for nearly 16 years.
When asked why he wanted his promotion ceremony to be held at the home of the 39th IBCT instead of at the Pentagon, Bridges stated that "this is home to me".
