On July 12, several KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft from various units departed Eielson for ULTIMATE REACH, an exercise which supports TALISMAN SABER.
The KC-135 aircraft from the 121st Air Refueling Wing out of Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, Ohio; the 185th ARW out of Sioux City ANG Base, Iowa; the 22d ARW out of McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas; and the 161st ARW out of Goldwater ANG Base, Arizona; will conduct air refueling operations to support units traveling to the TALISMAN SABER exercise in Australia.
The aircraft, while from many different locations around the U.S., departed from Eielson due to its strategic location that allows for rapid deployment to nearly any location within the Northern Hemisphere at a moment’s notice.
ULTIMATE REACH allowed both Eielson and the ARWs to showcase our ability to support a variety of contingency operations, which ensure stability, peace and security throughout both the Indo-Asia-Pacific region and the world.
