MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- History was made here, June 2, 2017, when the base hosted its first Individual Ready Reserve Muster.

Airmen who fulfill their commitment to the Air Force, are placed on inactive status. During this time, they are subject to recall back to active duty in the case of a national emergency or war.

Individual Ready Reservists who attend the IRR Muster, are given various opportunities such as updating their medical information, speaking with a Veterans Affairs representative and even rejoining a component of the Air Force.

Planning began early in the year with individuals from the 366th Medical Group, the Military Personnel Section and Security Forces lending a hand to get the Muster organized.

“We had Security Forces, medical, MPS and the VA, Air Reserve Personnel Center, in service recruiter and even a recruiter based out of Hill (AFB),” said Major Tamekia Payne, 366th Force Support Squadron operation officer. “It’s like a whole team, how so many people came together to do their part to make this happen.”
