Story by Airman 1st Class Kathryn Reaves

    20th Fighter Wing

With the 52nd anniversary of the Wild Weasels quickly approaching, this week’s flashback Friday is all about the Weasel Nation.

Wild Weasel history began in 1965 Vietnam when Air Force pilots destroyed Viet Cong surface-to-air capabilities.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Wild Weasels, the 20th Fighter Wing hosted a two-day conference for former Weasel pilots, June 5 and 6, 2015. The veterans were given a tour of 20th FW work centers, learned about the how the mission has evolved, and attended the
unveiling of the flagship F-16CM Fighting Falcon's Wild Weasel 50th Anniversary tail flash.

A conference is scheduled for the 52nd anniversary of the Wild Weasels, June 22 to 25.
