Story by Airman 1st Class Tristan Viglianco

    9th Reconnaissance Wing

“I grew up in a small farming town so I have always been interested in biology and the outdoors. I was always playing outside in the grass and trying to catch wildlife. When I got older I became interested in music and actually played bass in a metal band for a while. However, I always had the drive to go back to school and study wildlife, so I went back to school and got a degree in biology. After working in the Bay Area I came to Beale about a year ago. I was interested in working with the military because bases can act like nature reserves with their land. This is especially evident at Beale with a lot of the land being basically untouched. At Beale I act as a liaison between the environment, the public, and the military. In doing so, I ensure our mission is completed while still preserving our natural ecosystems and resources. I believe these resources have an intrinsic value and having a piece of nature on base is good for everyone.”
