    7th Mission Support Command

    CONSTANTA, Romania -The 7th Mission Support Command’s 793rd Movement Control Team conducted port disembarkation operations for military vehicles, equipment download and convoy staging with Soldiers from the 497th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, the 39th Transportation Battalion (MC), 16th Sustainment Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, 1st Inland Cargo Company, 18th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 405th Army Field Support Brigade, 32nd Composite Truck Company and the 839th Transportation Battalion from the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve March 31 – Apr. 1, 2017.

    According to the 21st Theater Sustainment Command Public Affairs Office, the 497th CSSB, an Army Reserve unit from Salem, Va., will serve as headquarters units for logistical support to units deployed throughout Eastern Europe during their nine-month deployment.

    “We are in charge of ADAC [Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group],” said Spc. Stephen Bowers, movement specialist, 793rd MCT, 7th Mission Support Command. “We coordinate movement for personnel, cargo and equipment.”

    839th SDDC out of Camp Darby at Livorno, Italy controlled the ship, “Liberty Passion,” in the port as it was downloaded.

    Then, the 793rd MCT controlled the staging area before the equipment was convoyed to Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base, Romania.

    According to 1st Lt. Victor Ramosrivera, executive officer, 793rd MCT, 7th MSC, there were a total of 325 pieces of equipment, trailers, vehicles, containers and bulk cargo was offloaded during the operation.

    The 793rd MCT conducted a rehearsal of concept or ROC drill, planning, a walk-thru and a brief with the other units assisting the operation in the days prior to “Knight Resolve.”

    “Anything the Army needs moved in Atlantic Resolve-South, we coordinate movement,” Bowers said. “We work with Romania border patrol, customs and the Romanian Army quite a bit in the ADAC section.”

    ADAC operations are also being taken over by 497th CSSB.

    “What the 793rd MCT is doing for the 21st TSC is great,” Command Sgt. Carla Hill, senior enlisted advisor, 39th Transportation Battalion (MC), 16th Sustainment Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command. “They help provide speed of assembly for all the sustainment units that will provide support in all the upcoming multi-national exercises and for the regional aligned forces.”
