SKWIERZYNA, POLAND – Soldiers of 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, conducted a command post exercise here from March 6-10 as part of Atlantic Resolve training to prepare them to respond to a crisis.

“The purpose of Atlantic Resolve is to deter aggression in the region,” said Capt. Michael E. Whitted Jr., commander of Company A. “If something were to happen and our Allies needed help, I’m confident that we would be able to jump right into action, and this CPX proves it. On top of that, it builds confidence in our Soldiers.”

The exercise tested the ability to rapidly operate in a field environment and to test the company’s equipment and communication systems.

The Solders set up their command post, radios, tents and generators in a remote area away from the main Skwierzyna installation and were able to continue operations uninterrupted.

In addition to the CPX, A Co. Soldiers continued to provide sustainment support to the entire brigade across multiple countries in eastern Europe. The company is responsible for running supply convoys from Poland to Lithuania twice a week to provide essential supplies and repair parts numbering in the thousands.

“The whole time support never let up,” said 1st Sgt. Blake Wise, senior noncommissioned officer of A Co. “The effort, the hard work and the training these Soldiers put in day in and day out really shows during times like this.”
