Chibbaro awarded Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal

Command, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography

Lt. j.g. Katherine Chibbaro was presented an on-the-spot Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for serving as Maritime Operations Center lead to the Unmanned Systems Operational Demonstration planning team at Commander Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, Stennis Space Center, Miss., from October 2016 through February 2017. Chibbaro (right) enabled successful planning efforts for the first-ever Navy exercise of its kind, scheduled for May 31-June 2 in the Gulf of Mexico to showcase Naval Oceanography's leadership in unmanned systems capabilities. Her efforts included coordination with eight supporting Command Task Units and Command Task Elements to develop six warfare scenarios, as well as development of a planning order to guide and direct the operational demonstration. Chief of Staff, Capt. Rich Delgado (left), presented the award.
