Story by Airman 1st Class Isaiah Soliz

    325th Fighter Wing

Man’s best friend and America’s favorite past-time coincide at Tyndall as an unused baseball diamond transforms into a dog’s paradise.
A baseball field located near the intersection of Felix Lake Drive and Heritage Parkway in base housing was converted in November 2016 to provide a place for both dogs and owners to socialize.
The facility is open to anyone with base access.
The 195-foot-long field provides the space necessary for the smallest and largest of dog breeds.
Since its initial conversion, the dog park has received improvements, to include upgrades to the perimeter fence and installation of dual gates at entry and exit points to thwart even the craftiest of escape artists.
A recent addition to the park is an improved area lighting system which now allows for safer use of the facility during evening hours. The park is now open 24 hours.
Canines and their humans must obey the following rules:
    - All dogs must be on leash until inside the park and upon leaving the park.
    - Female dogs that are in heat are not allowed.
    - A dog must be removed from the park at the first sign of aggression.
    - Each owner/custodian is responsible for cleaning up after their pet and disposing of the waste properly in the provided receptacle.
    - No food or treats (human or pet) are allowed inside the park.
    - No smoking or alcohol allowed inside the park.
    - Children must be supervised.

Park patrons who enter the area do so at their own risk. Users must comply with all posted rules and take full legal responsibility for the actions of their families and pets. Pet owners will be held liable for any damage, negligence and injuries that are caused by their pets.

This facility is for all of Team Tyndall and it is up to each individual to police themselves and keep the park in good order for future use.
