Story by Airman 1st Class Tenley Long

    100th Air Refueling Wing

Name and Rank: Tech. Sgt. Brian Adcock

Unit: 352nd Special Operations Maintenance Squadron

    Duty Title: Resource advisor

Time in Service: 12 years, 6 months

Time at Mildenhall: 2 years, 5 months

Hobbies: I enjoy traveling, sightseeing, trivia and videogames.

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?

“Growing up, being in the Air Force is the only thing I’ve ever wanted. The Air Force has shown me my potential and has given me the opportunity to do more with my life than I ever expected.”
What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?

“I'm proud to have been a part of the first-ever AC-130W Stinger deployment and live-fire mission. I was able to witness many milestones and share that experience with the rest of my unit.”

What are your personal and/or professional goals?
“I would like to finish my Community College of the Air Force degree and continue on to earn a bachelor’s degree. I would also like to be able to make master sergeant and continue helping out my squadron as best as I can.”
What is your favorite part of your job?

“The best part of my job is being able to help people. I am in the position to be able to get my fellow Airmen all of the tools, gear, equipment, and anything else that will help to make their jobs easier and improve their work centers directly.”

Core Value Portrayed: Excellence in All We Do

How does the individual portray that core value?

Excellence in All We Do: “Tech. Sgt. Adcock portrays this value through his actions as the unit resource advisor,” said Master Sgt. Carlton Wilson, 352nd SOMXS commander’s executive. “With this, his main responsibility is advising our commander on funds. However, he spends a majority of his day helping unit members with Defense Travel System problems. In addition, he takes phone calls when off duty, to assist members with their travel issues. Since starting the job as an RA, he has ensured tasks are completed on time and within budget. I have seen him go to various funding meetings and spend hours after work making sure the paperwork was accurate, which led to our unit ending fiscal year 2017 funding with a balanced budget. Lastly, in his off time he occasionally aides his fellow military members by assisting members with their resiliency activities.”
