BAGHDAD --A Task Force Baghdad patrol exchanged gunfire with terrorists near the Al Baya Iraqi Police Station just west of Al Doura at 5:20 a.m. June 20.
When an IP patrol responded to the incident, terrorists detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, killing four IPs and wounding four others. One IP is missing.
An Iraqi Security Forces unit also responded to the attack. One ISF member was killed and 15 were wounded.
No U.S. casualties have been reported.
Upon receiving the first reports of the terrorist attack, Task Force Baghdad immediately sent air and ground assets to the site to help the IPs defend their station.
