    164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade

    Keefer was born in Maricopa, Ca. in 1964 and entered the Army on November 28, 1984. He attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, where he graduated as a light wheel vehicle mechanic. Keefer left the Active Army after 12 years of service and joined the Florida Army National Guard in 1996 with the Regional Training Site Maintenance (RTSM) Florida. He was then selected for the Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) Program in 1997.

    His previous assignments include Command Sergeant Major, 3-265th ADA Battalion; Command Sergeant Major, 164th ADA Brigade National Capital Region – Integrated Air Defense System (NCR-IADS); Operations Sergeant Major, 164th ADA Brigade; First Sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, Joint Force Headquarters-Florida (JFHQ-FL); First Sergeant, 631st Maintenance Company; Senior Operations Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), G3, JFHQ-FL; Assistant Inspector General (IG), JFHQ-FL; Assistant IG, 13th Corps Support Command, Balad, Iraq; Training NCO, G3, JFHQ-FL; and Instructor, RTSM Florida.

    Keefer’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Florida Cross, Florida Distinguished Service Medal, Florida Commendation Medal, Florida Meritorious Service Ribbon, the Ancient Order of St. Barbara and the Honorable Order of St. Barbara.

    Always fully involved and committed to service, Keefer is a National Guard Association Life Member, an Air Defense Artillery Association Life Member and an American Legion Member. He previously served as a member of the National Guard Association of Florida Executive Council and as the Florida National Guard Enlisted Association Vice President.

    Keefer resides in Orlando with his wife of 29 years, Justine, who is a Florida Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Officer. They have two children - Tabatha and Justin; one adopted daughter - Tammy; and three grandsons - Keaghan, Tristan and Kellan.
