    Air Mobility Command

The Tampa Bay Defense Alliance presents the trophy annually to an individual civic leader exhibiting sustained and enduring service to the community, Air Mobility Command and the Air Force.

“I’ve known and worked with Doc Leverett for many years,” said Gen. Carlton D. Everhart II, Air Mobility Command commander. “His dedication to Altus Air Force Base, its mission, and most importantly, to its Airmen contributed greatly to our mission accomplishment when I was the commander of the 97th Air Mobility Wing. Without his support, and ability to rally the community, the base would not be the success it is today.”

When he’s not practicing medicine, Leverett serves as chairman of the Altus Military Affairs Committee. In 2003, the Governor of Oklahoma appointed him as a commissioner to the Oklahoma Strategic Military Planning Commission to represent the Altus area. He is the honorary commander of the 97th Air Mobility Wing at Altus AFB, Oklahoma, and has been recognized as “A Friend of Altus.” Leverett also serves on both the Air Education and Training Command and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Civic Leader groups.

Leverett is the medical director of Integris Family Care Clinic in Altus, Oklahoma, and board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. For over 30 years, he has had a traditional clinic, nursing home and hospital practice and served as chief of staff of Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Leverett is a fourth generation Altusian and attended Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine before completing an internal medicine residency at Oklahoma University Medical Center.

Leverett is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a commissioner on the Oklahoma Physician Manpower Training Commission. He serves on the Integris Physicians Services Board of Directors, Jackson County Memorial Board of Directors and is a member of the American Medical Directors Association. In addition to his professional medical associations, Leverett is a member of the Altus Chamber of Commerce, Altus Water Task Force, P-4 Steering Committee and a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class XXIV.
