    U.S. Army Career Program 26

WASHINGTON – Career progression was one of the topics of discussion during the Career Program 26 – Manpower and Force Management (CP26) Roadshow hosted at Clay Kaserne, Germany, September 22, 2016.

“I think it was important to have the roadshow here so that those in the area can put a face to the name and to get more detailed information about their careers, which helps give them the opportunity to pursue interests that are best for them within their career,” said Phillip Vaughn, U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) internal control administrator. “The most beneficial part to me was hearing about resumes. Learning about how you can make sure that your resume is in the right format for what hiring officials are looking was very interesting.”

The CP26 roadshow is a day-long seminar presented by the CP26 Proponecy Office, which is under the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 at the Pentagon. During the course of the day topics such as resumes, career progression maps and the Army’s talent management programs were discussed to the more than 20 people who attended the seminar.

“I wanted to learn about the opportunities CP26 careerists have and look at my own career and see where I am at in the spectrum of career progression,” said Dwayne Ford, a management analyst at USAREUR. “Learning about how to build your career especially in the SETM and ETM programs is what I think will be very valuable to me.”

The CP26 roadshow is designed as a seminar to educate and inform civilians within the manpower and force management community. While some of the information is specific to CP26, the applicability of much of the information extends to all 31 different career programs.

The CP26 roadshow visited U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany prior to briefing at Clay Kaserne. In addition to the roadshow the CP26 Proponecy Office also conducted one-on-one career counseling sessions for civilians.
