    UNITED STATES

    09.29.2016

Story by Staff Sgt. Robbie Arp

    52nd Fighter Wing

    SCRIPT
These crates represent the last few elements of the 606th Air Control Squadron presence on Spangdahlem Air Base.

Maj. Carol Kale- Det. Commander, 606th ACS “Everything’s almost completely gone, we just have a few trucks left. This is where our equipment used to be and again, it’s completely bare.”

A large unit PCS is currently underway, the bulk of 606th assets and personnel already at their new location in Aviano Air Base, Italy.

“So i think right now, the biggest challenge is going to be the folks at Aviano trying to set up and get al the equipment operational and to receive all the folks going there."

All the while, remaining combat capable during the transition

"So it’s kind of neat to see everyone coming together, but everyone’s really working outside of what they really came in the air force to do to make this happen and that’s pretty awesome to see.”

Over the next 5 Months, the final pieces of the transition will be complete, and on February 28th, no more 606th personnel will be assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing. TSgt Robbie Arp, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.
