FORT BLISS, Texas -- William Beaumont Army Medical Center’s Mendoza Pediatrics Clinic is offering school and sport physical clinics on three Saturdays this summer in order to help Tricare beneficiaries get a jump on the next school year.
July 23, August 6 and 20 will be the days that parents of school children, ages four to 18, can bring their children to Mendoza Clinic.
Parents may call 742-CARE (2273) to make the appointment and bring their school's pre-participation sports physical forms. Having the forms pre-filled prior to the appointment will speed the appointment time. Most schools require updated physicals for new enrollees or prior to students’ participation in sports and other activities. Immunizations will also be offered for school-aged children.
Fort Bliss primary care clinics offer school and sports physicals all summer during regular business hours, but the Saturday clinics offer appointments at convenient weekend times. Mendoza Pediatrics wants to ensure that every child is healthy and fit to start off the new school year and to participate in the sport of his or her choosing.
Health professionals at Mendoza Pediatrics screen children for heart disorders, musculoskeletal problems and head injuries that might cause problems during physical activities. These visits also provide a great opportunity for families and healthcare teams to discuss children’s overall health and fitness lifestyles that include their exercise, sleep and nutrition.
William Beaumont Army Medical Center is proud to serve Tricare beneficiaries and their families by providing exceptional service and support children’s health, fitness, and activity goals.
