U.S. Army Sgt. Melissa Jenks, a combat medic assigned to the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, deployed to Kosovo out of Fort Carson, Colo., distinguished herself from her peers, winning the Multinational Battle Group-East Non-commissioned Officer of the Month for April 2016.
Jenks was selected as the NCO of the Month by senior enlisted Soldiers throughout the battle group after undergoing an intense line of questions aimed at testing her military knowledge. Additionally, Jenks’ military history, to include her physical fitness test scores were reviewed and compared to other competitors.
Jenks, a native of Coral Springs, Florida, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2013 and is currently deployed in support of Kosovo Force 21 (KFOR) for a nine-month tour.
The Army sergeant is a graduate of Coral Springs Charter School where she was a member of the school’s softball team
