BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Soldiers and Civilians of the Army Reserve Sustainment Command and Deployment Support Command of Birmingham attended a town hall meeting led by Mr. James Balocki, United States Army Reserve Command’s executive officer and director, services and installations.

Prior to the town hall meeting, he was able to meet with the ARSC and DSC senior staff to gain an overview of their dynamic and unique organizations and their support of the active duty force.

“This has been a great opportunity to understand what your unique organizations offer,” said Balocki.

At the start of the town hall meeting, Balocki took time to thank all Soldiers and Civilians of the ARSC and DSC.

“The work you do every day is important and I need you to understand it’s not without notice,” he said.

The town hall was scheduled to discuss topics such as; the military technician program, the Department of Defense budget and how it impacts the United States Army Reserve, information technology, and acquisition. He gave several examples of how important it is to have flexibility in this operating environment.

Balocki also fielded questions from Soldiers and Civilians regarding authorized strength, funding, and upcoming policies.

“On behalf of the American public, we appreciate your hard work and the sacrifices you make preserving our freedoms,” said Balocki.
