JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. - Wing leadership of the 156th Airlift Wing, Puerto Rico Air National Guard, traveled on a PRANG WC-130H from Muñiz Air National Guard Base, Carolina, Puerto Rico Feb. 29 to Joint Base Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland to provide the first PRANG State of the Commonwealth briefing before the Air National Guard Readiness Center.
The SoC briefing gave the PRANG leadership the opportunity to directly address ANGRC on the history, challenges, capabilities and accomplishments of the PRANG. Col. Edward L. Vaughan, commander of the 156th AW, proposed the strategic vision and plans that would project mission security and success for the PRANG unto 2050.
The PRANG delegation was led by Assistant Adjutant General of the Puerto Rico National Guard, Brig. Gen. Wayne A. Zimmet, and the SoC briefing was coordinated by 156th Wing Plans Officer, Lt. Col. Russell G. Toro, and was anchored by Joint Force Headquarters Director of Operations, Col. Orlando E. Negron.
Col. Christopher E. Finerty, vice commander of the ANGRC, 201st Mission Support Squadron, closed the briefing with a message to the airmen of the PRANG, "There is no greater mission than the mission you currently have. Keep doing what you're doing and focus on your mission."
