FORT HOOD, Texas - USO Fort Hood officials will host a 75th Anniversary Kick-Off Celebration at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 4 in the USO Fort Hood Center Parking Lot, 1871 50th Street, Building 1871.

Lynda McFarland, III Corps senior spouse, will join USO Fort Hood and area service members for a commemorative cake cutting.

To mark the anniversary, the USO is inviting Americans to get reacquainted with today's USO, whose mission is to strengthen America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation.

The celebration kicks off a year of activities designed to rededicate the organization and the nation to forging new bonds between Americans and their military service members by clearing pathways for each to connect with the other in ways that are meaningful, personal and enduring.

Throughout the year, USO Fort Hood will share historical and real-time memories via #USOconnects and is inviting the public to share their memories, experiences, appreciation and stories of connection by using the hashtag. In addition, the USO has designed a gold and blue anniversary logo to commemorate the milestone.

Media interested in covering this event should register here. On Feb. 4, media should meet in the south side parking lot of the visitor's center at 11 a.m.
