    U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe and Africa     

    CAMP SINGO, Uganda - The Uganda People’s Defense Force and the U.S. military will recognize Ugandan soldiers at Camp Singo, Uganda, Dec. 18 during a training graduation ceremony.

    The U.S. Marines and sailors with Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response-Africa trained the UPDF in combat medicine, heavy equipment operations, Mine-Resistant, Ambushed-Protected vehicle maintenance and driving, utilities, communications, engineering and explosive ordnance training, during the past two months.

    The two militaries worked together to enhance the UPDF’s capabilities as they continue their commitment in the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).

    SPMAGTF-CR-AF is based out of Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, where they stage and prepare for theater security cooperation missions into various countries in Africa. For more information, please contact KampalaUSEmbassyPress@state.gov at the U.S. Embassy in Kampala.
