COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio National Guard will welcome home about 200 Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 174th Air Defense Artillery Regiment during a 4:30 p.m. ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Tri-County Assembly of God, 7350 Dixie Highway, Fairfield, Ohio, 45014.

The 1-174th Air Defense Artillery deployed as Task Force Shiloh to the National Capital Region (NCR) in support of Operation Noble Eagle, serving an integral role in the Integrated Air Defense System mission. The task force’s mission was to provide air defense capabilities in order to protect the airspace around the NCR in the Washington area. This included the use of aircraft, radar, ground based air defense systems and communications equipment.

The unit has previously deployed in support of the War on Terrorism to Germany, Texas, Kuwait and most recently in 2010, when the 1-174th was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn.
