FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. - Vice Adm. Jan E. Tighe, commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/10th Fleet (FCC/C10F), has announced the Fleet's new Executive Director of the Navy Cryptologic Office, will arrive Sept. 21.

Paul J. Jaeger, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was selected for the position and will serve as a senior adviser for FCC/C10F.

“The Navy cryptologic mission is critical to ensuring Navy and Joint freedom of action and decision superiority,” said Tighe. "Mr. Jaeger brings tremendous experience from his time serving in uniform and as a civilian. His reputation and qualifications are unmatched, making him a valuable addition to the Fleet Cyber team.”

In his new role, Jaeger will be a key responsible leader in executing Fleet Cyber Command’s Strategic Plan. His principal focus area will be under Goal 2: Conduct Tailored Signals Intelligence, since he is the forward face for integrating Fleet Cyber Command’s mission as Navy Service Cryptologic Component for the National Security Agency and Central Security Service to include collaborative initiative development, requirements validation, program planning, resource allocation, system allocation, and operations.

Jaeger previously served as the Executive Director of the Cryptologic Training Council, the interagency governing body for the Cryptologic Training System—a confederation of the Military Departments, U.S. Coast Guard and the National Security Agency/Central Security Service.

U.S. Fleet Cyber Command serves as the Navy component command to U.S. Strategic Command and U.S. Cyber Command, and the Navy's Service Cryptologic Component commander under the National Security Agency/Central Security Service. Fleet Cyber Command also reports directly to the Chief of Naval Operations as an Echelon II command.

U.S. 10th Fleet is the operational arm of Fleet Cyber Command and executes its mission through a task force structure similar to other warfare commanders.
