CAMP SANTIAGO JOINT MANEUVER TRAINING CENTER, Puerto Rico – Leaders from the Puerto Rico National Guard invited Col. Michael T. Harvey and Command Sgt. Maj. Luis A. Rosario, U.S. Army Reserve and garrison leaders from Fort Buchanan, to visit and evaluate the facilities of Camp Santiago Joint Maneuver Training Center at Salinas Sept. 18.
The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the capabilities of Camp Santiago in hopes of doing collective training between the Reserve and National Guard in the near future. During the visit they stopped by several new ranges including the ones for the Urban Assault Course, the Live Fire Shoot House and the Multi-Purpose Machine Gun Range, which is still under construction and due for fiscal year 2016.
In addition to joint training, Harvey also talked about projects in Fort Buchanan that will benefit both elements such as the construction of a helipad near the new PRNG headquarters on post.
