NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION, N.Y. -- Members of the NFARS Honor Guard assisted with Team RWB's moving tribute on Sept. 11, 2015, at Delaware Park in Buffalo, New York.
Honor Guard provided a colors ceremony, rifle salute and moment of silence prior to the scheduled tribute. The Buffalo Chapter of Team RWB held their third annual 9/11 Dawn to Dusk Moving Tribute, where runners and walkers kept one American Flag and one Flag of Honor continuously moving around the Delaware Park loop from sunrise to sunset.
"Events like this are important because we can't dwell on the past but we need to remember it to move forward," said Senior Airman Eric Norman, NFARS Honor Guardsman.
A similar ceremony was provided by Honor Guard that evening at the 9/11 memorial on Transit Road in Williamsville, New York. It was attended by members of the community including police, firefighters and other first responders.
"It's an honor and a privilege to pay tribute for those who needlessly lost their lives that day and all the families that were affected," said Master Sgt. Thomas Perreault, NFARS Honor Guard superintendent.
