FORT BRAGG, N.C.—Sgt. Roberto Sanchez, a paratrooper assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division is currently training to compete in the 82nd Abn. Div. Best Medic competition at Fort Bragg.
Sanchez, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, is one of five medics assigned to the 82nd Abn. Div. competing.
To get to the division-level competition, Sanchez first competed at the brigade-level. The Paratrooper also completed a Ranger Physical Fitness Test and graduated the Fort Bragg Pre-Ranger Course.
Extensive training is the focus for Sanchez during the month of September. He will continue to undergo long classroom hours, physical training, warrior task, and consistent medical training scenarios under strenuous conditions at the Taylor Medical Training Facility.
The winner of the division’s Best Medic Competition slated for Sept. 25, will travel to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and will have a chance compete against other division winners from around the Army to be named the Best Medic of 2015.
