    90th Missile Wing

FRANCIS E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. - On the high plains of Wyoming, Airmen of F.E. Warren Air Force Base take a break from the routine to have some fun in the sun with their family.

Every year, for more than 20 years, the 90th Missile Wing takes a day off from its routine in order to have some fun, build camaraderie and let family members join in before the start of the local school year.

The day is known as Frontiercade, and this year it was held Aug. 21.

Competitions range from volleyball to jousting with pugil sticks over a pit of muddy water to a pie baking contest.

Oh, and don’t forget about the buffalo chip toss; you can’t forget the buffalo chip toss!

It is a sight to behold as leaders of Airmen - commanders of squadron’s and groups - along with their staff, compete to see which unit can propel, fling or launch buffalo manure with the greatest accuracy toward a target more than 100 yards away. This year, the 90th Contracting Squadron was the only team to score a direct hit to win the event.

At the end of the day, the 90th Civil Engineer Squadron took home honors as the large-unit champion, while the 90th Force Support Squadron took the small-unit prize.
