TACTICAL BASE GAMBERI, Afghanistan - Senior Afghan National Army and Resolute Support leaders visited Train Advise Assist Command-East and 201 Corps at Tactical Base Gamberi July 30, 2015.

The distinguished visitors included Lt. Gen. Qadim Shah, the ANA Chief of General Staff; Command Sgt. Maj. Roshan Safi, the ANA Sergeant Major of the Army; and Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, the Resolute Support Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations.

Qadim Shah spoke to a large formation of service members from the ANA, National Directorate of Security, Afghan National Civil Order Police, and Afghan National Police at 201st Corp's Regional Military Training Center, conducted a pass in review of the formation, and took time to asses the readiness of troops and equipment for Operation Iron Triangle.

Operation Iron Triangle is a joint operation by the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in Nangarhar province. The goal is to clear the districts of Khogyani, Sherzad and Hisarak of armed insurgents in an effort to bring better security to the districts, paving the way for better governance.

During the operation, leaders and advisers from TAAC-E will continue the partnership and work closely with their Afghan counterparts in the 201st Corps to provide advice and assistance on a number of essential functions.
