    20th CBRNE Command

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. - British Royal Air Force leaders visited the 20th CBRNE Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives) here Aug. 7.

The British military leaders from the Air Command Headquarters, Defense CBRN Wing and Defense CBRN Center visited as a part of an ongoing exchange program between U.S. and British forces.

The 20th CBRNE Command is Defense Department's only multifunctional formation that combats CBRNE threats. Soldiers and civilians from the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland-based 20th CBRNE Command train with joint, interagency and allied partners around the world.

Ray Van Pelt, the 20th CBRNE Command technical advisor and senior civilian executive, said the visit enabled the Royal Air Force officers to learn more about 20th CBRNE Command and its global mission.

"We work closely with our British allies around the globe and this visit to our headquarters was a great opportunity to strengthen our long-standing partnership," said Van Pelt, a retired Chemical Corps colonel from New York City.
