FORT HOOD, Texas – Soldiers from the 85th Civil Affairs Brigade, for the first time, will conduct a Field Training Exercise here, Aug. 10 to Aug. 14.
The brigade and its subordinate battalions, spread across the country in every time zone, will conduct a weeklong humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise. The scenario for the exercise involves an earthquake in Haiti. The exercise's purpose is to validate the brigade’s ability to conduct mission command from tactical operations centers in a deployed environment.
