FORT BLISS, Texas – The 252nd Military Police Company, Tennessee Army National Guard, returned from a mission in the U.S. Army Central Command Area of Operations, June 19, at the Silas L. Copeland Arrival/Departure Air Control Group.

The 252nd MP Company conducted U.S. customs operations throughout the Middle East covering seven different countries and locations. In their inspection reports, the unit cleared over 26,000 personnel and $6.6 billion of equipment.

“Nothing left theater without going through us first,” said Capt. Christopher Martinson, commander, 252nd MP Company. “We set the standard. I am very proud of the unit overall, they did an amazing job.”

Greeting them off the plane at the tarmac was Brig. Gen. William Mark Hart, the land component commander for Tennessee and the TANG.

“It was a very diverse tasking that they had,” said Hart. “They rose to the occasion. I am very proud that we have that junior leadership embedded so far into the ranks that they could do that mission across miles and countries and borders and everything else.”

The 252nd MP Company will now focus on demobilization through the Mobilization and Deployment branch of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security.

“We are glad to be here at Fort Bliss and we are ready to go home,” said Martinson.

Hart supported Martinson and congratulated him on a job well done.

“It seems like all of this is coming to an end in short order and I think that there is a lot of people who have forgotten or have chosen to forget the National Guard’s commitment to the defense of this country,” said Hart. “When they were needed, they rose and met the call, and they did it in short order. And that will always be the standard of our citizen-Soldiers. We should continue to facilitate their training, their equipment and their opportunities to make us all very proud Americans.”
