UPDATE: The time for the ceremony has been changed to 11:30 a.m.
FORT HOOD, Texas - The U.S. Army's 48th Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Brigade will change commanders at 11 a.m. July 9 at Cooper Field here. In addition, the unit will also uncase the brigade colors, signifying an end to their mission in support of Operation Unified Assistance in West Africa.
Col. Sven C. Erichsen will pass command of the brigade to Col. Christopher J. Cox.
Cox comes to Fort Hood from Carlise Barracks, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from the Army War College. Erichsen will serve as the director for plans and operations, 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Command, headquartered on Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland.
Cox will be joined by his wife Michelle.
