CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq - Over 150 members of the Michigan National Guard’s 1434th Engineer Company Arrived at Camp Liberty, Iraq this week.
The Grayling based unit was mobilized in June in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The unit went through training at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin from June until early August before they departed for their next duty station in Iraq.
The 1434th‘s mission will continue through the remainder of 2009 into 2010. The unit is anticipated to return home in June of 2010.
