FORT HOOD, Texas -- The commanding general of U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC) will host a media availability at 1:45 p.m. March 10 in the Phantom Warrior Room, III Corps Headquarters, here.
The focus of the interview will be on AMC support to III Corps and Fort Hood troops both home and abroad.
Gen. Dennis L. Via, commanding general, oversees several logistics support units on Fort Hood, including the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, 418th Contracting Support Brigade, and Logistics Readiness Center. The command provides warfighters the equipment, supplies and logistics support they -need, when and where they need it.
As the senior leader of AMC, Via commands a $50 billion global organization with an impact in all 50 states and 145 countries. If a Soldier shoots it, drives it, flies it, communicates with it, wears it, or eats it, AMC produces and provides it. From research and development to contracting and manufacturing, from supply and distribution to sustainment, retrograde and resale, AMC manages every phase of the materiel life cycle.
