Seahawk Marines return from U.S. CENTCOM deployment

II Marine Expeditionary Force   

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - More than 160 Marines with Marine Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 4 and several other 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing squadrons returned to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., from more than six-month deployment to Qatar, Feb. 5, 2015.

Also returning were Marines with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14 and 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, who fell under operational control of VMAQ-4 throughout the deployment.

VMAQ-4 is an EA-6B Prowler squadron trained to provide airborne electronic attack capabilities. During the deployment, VMAQ-4 supplied aviation combat requirements within U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility.

“While deployed, our Marines provided airborne electronic warfare support to the combatant commander,” said Sgt. Maj. Alex N. Narvaez, sergeant major of VMAQ-4.

According to Narvaez, the squadron sustained a high level of readiness throughout the deployment, supporting aviation missions within U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility.

“I am very proud of my Marines and how they performed during the deployment,” said Narvaez. “They did an excellent job throughout the deployment.”
