FORT HOOD, Texas – The 6th Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment “Saber,” 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division will host a Family Gunnery Day event Saturday, Feb. 7 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Brookhaven Scout/Reconnaissance Gunnery Complex.

More than 90 family members will participate in the vehicle and equipment petting zoo, which is designed to improve the awareness families have of battalion operations, display the professionalism of the Soldiers within the unit, and build a stronger relationship between the unit and Family Readiness Group – all in a safe and fun environment.

Families will have the opportunity to become familiar with the Bradley, RQ-7 Shadow, small arms weapons, and several other vehicles and pieces of equipment. The event will also include a Bradley live fire demonstration.

Interested media representatives who wish to attend the family gunnery event must RSVP no later than Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 12 p.m. The event link up time is 9:30 a.m. at the Fort Hood Visitor Center.
